Che, escuchame una cosa

I just returned from a one week adventure to one of my favorite places in the world: a city full of Italian food, Castellano-speaking, melo-dramatic, entertaining people and crazy nights: Buenos Aires! My U.S. American friend, Carolina, is a Fullbright scholar living in Recoleta. Caro and I met on our study abroad program, have maintained a close friendship ever since and were finally given the opportunity to rock the city again after two years. And how much fun it was... great eats and even greater nights, in my experience very few places in the world compare to Buenos Aires. Not only was I able to re-connect with Carolina but also a local friend, and found that even after two years we still maintain a wonderful connection, and also managed to make new friends along the way. And now that I'm back in Brazil I'm feeling very intense saudades for Argentina, both countries have such different things to offer. I don't know what I will do without South America in my life at all.
Special note: At lunch after a long night, Carolina and I managed to hold an entire conversation thinking we were discussing the same thing when we really weren't. It went something like this:
(Caro): I love seeing ____ in Argentina.
(Les) Me too! But they're expensive here.
I wonder how much.
I mean, at least 1,000 pesos.
Really? That expensive?
Yeah, they're at least $300 in the U.S.
Wow, I had no idea.
And I'm not even including the import tax.
What???
And this is how far we got before realizing that while Tory had said dreadlocks ("seeing dreadlocks in Argentina," referring to the guy next to us) I had understood iPods. Oh gosh, someone hold us back.
